Iceland: Best Place to Be a Woman
The World Economic Forum’s annual report on the global gender gap is out, with predictable results—no country has achieved complete gender equality yet, but Iceland and Scandinavia come the closest for the fifth year in a row. The WEF’s metrics include women’s economic opportunity, education, health, and political empowerment, and Iceland came in first in all but economics. For comparison, the U.S. came in 23rdoverall but first in education. Pakistan and Yemen rank last.
