Do Something Targets Teens
Apathy Sucks. That was the key message of the ‘Do Something Upfront’ meeting last week, where staff of the largest non-for-profit for young people and social change presented their “Big, loud and easy” campaign plan for 2014. With 2.4 million young people using the site to “kick ass on causes they care about”, Do Something.org aren’t resting on their laurels. Successful movements from past years will see a return in 2014, such as the “Thumb Wars” anti-texting and driving campaign which involved 279,446 young people in 2012, and the “Pregnancy Text” operation which aims to combat high rates of teen pregnancy. A key feature of every campaign is its easiness; none of the eleven movements planned require a car, money or an adult.
