“Mad About the Boy” to be published October 10.
Bridget Jones has some new—and universally acknowledged—advice: “Rule No. 1: Do not text when drunk.” Author Helen Fielding’s third Bridget Jones book, Mad About the Boy, will be released in October, the first new one of the series in 14 years. The novel is set in present-day London and follows Bridget as she navigates her troubled love life—now made even more difficult by social media. In a released excerpt, Bridget gripes, “If it was the days of letter-writing, I would never even have started to find his address, a pen, a piece of paper, an envelope, a stamp and gone outside at 11:30 p.m. to find a postbox.” But for fans of the movies, don’t get your hopes up for a third film—Colin Firth, who played Mark Darcy, mentioned a new movie wouldn’t be on its way anytime soon.
