Gamers Upset About New Xbox Head

Posting on Reddit and other message boards with fuming messages.

After being at Microsoft for 20 years, Julie Larson-Green is the newly appointed head of Xbox. While she gets a promotion, some gamers are upset she's in charge—just because she's a woman, The Atlantic Wire reported. One user said, “Now their (sic) will be apps dedicated to baking and knitting.” The stereotypical views don’t say a lot for the growth of society, but Twitterers have been a bit more positive. Green has years of experience and sexist comments on Reddit were downvoted.

Did Videogame Presenter Make Rape Joke?

    At Microsoft’s E3 conference.

In order to drum up excitement for the new XBox at the E3 videogame conference, Microsoft brought out a man and a woman to play Killer Instinct on the big screen in a scripted event. During the presentation, the man quickly wins against the woman. But their exchange is what enraged Twitter: The man says, “Just let it happen. It will be over soon.” Also, at one point, the woman says, “You have a fight stick,” to which the man responds, “Wow, you like those.” If that sounds sketchy, the virtual man continues to beat the virtual woman as she says that she doesn’t like it. Even if their conversation wasn’t scripted, this unfortunately isn’t anything new among the gaming community, where women aren't exactly welcome.
