A woman who was injured in the Westminster terror attack in London on March 22 has died from her wounds, police said. Andreea Cristea, a 31-year-old Romanian tourist, died Thursday after her life support was turned off. She is now the fifth victim to have died following the attack. Her family said in a statement that they were “deeply touched and eternally grateful” for those who tried to save her, from the moment she was pulled from the water of the Thames until her life support was cut off. She had serious head and lung injuries and underwent surgery for her wounds. “After fighting for her life for over two weeks, our beloved and irreplaceable Andreea—wonderful daughter, sister, partner, dedicated friend and the most unique and life-loving person you can imagine—was cruelly and brutally ripped away from our lives in the most heartless and spiritless way,” the statement said. “She will always be remembered as our shining ray of light that will forever keep on shining in our hearts.” Cristea was on vacation with her boyfriend, Andrei Burnaz, who was also wounded in the attack. He has been discharged from the hospital after recovering from his injuries.
