Woman Shot by Police in D.C.

A woman was shot in the chest by a police officer on Saturday night in Washington, D.C. after she refused commands to drop the knives she was carrying as she walked towards him. She is reportedly in stable condition at a hospital. D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said that as of know, “We don’t really know what’s behind this.” In a video posted on social media, the woman appears to be approaching the officer unsteadily until she is about 10 feet away. People standing nearby can be heard yelling for her to put down the knives.
