Tina Brown quickly rose through the ranks of the magazine industry on both sides of the Atlantic to become editor in chief of Tatler, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and Talk. Lauren Bush Lauren is cofounder of FEED Projects, a charitable company with the mission to create products that help feed the world. Each FEED product sold supports organizations such as the U.N. World Food Programme and UNICEF. FEED Projects has partnered with companies including Whole Foods Market, Barnes & Noble, HSN, Disney, and Pottery Barn. Bush is also the chairman of the board and cofounder of the FEED Foundation. Through the sale of eco-friendly products and donations, FEED has provided more than 65 million school meals to children around the world.

LEYMAH GBOWEEFOUNDER AND PRESIDENT, GBOWEE PEACE FOUNDATION AFRICA

2011 Nobel Peace laureate Leymah Gbowee is a Liberian peace activist, trained social worker, and women’s rights advocate. She is founder and president of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, head of the Liberia Reconciliation Initiative, and cofounder and executive director of Women Peace and Security Network Africa. Gbowee’s leadership of the Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace–which brought together Christian and Muslim women in a nonviolent movement that played a pivotal role in ending Liberia’s civil war in 2003–is chronicled in her memoir, Mighty Be Our Powers, and in the documentary Pray the Devil Back to Hell. She is also Newsweek & The Daily Beast’s Africa columnist and a member of the African Women Leaders Network for Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

NIZAN GUANAESFOUNDER AND CHAIRMAN, GRUPO ABC

Nizan Guanaes is chairman and founder of Grupo ABC, a Brazilian enterprise made up of 15 companies in the advertising, marketing, content, and entertainment sectors. Dedicated to social causes, Guanaes has been appointed UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and is a member of the UNAIDS High Level Commission on HIV Prevention. He is also an active member of the Clinton Global Initiative, World Economic Forum, Endeavor, and Council of Americas, and president of the Association of Entrepreneurs Friends of UNESCO Brazil. Guanaes helped create Together for Girls, a collaboration between U.N. entities, the U.S. Department of State, the Clinton Foundation, and Grupo ABC to bring attention to sexual violence against girls and women. In 2011, he became a founding sponsor of the Women in the World Foundation.

During her nine terms in the U.S. Congress, from which she retired in February 2011, Jane Harman served on all the major security committees and traveled to hotspots around the world to assess threats against the U.S. An expert on security and public-policy issues, she has received the Defense Department Medal for Distinguished Service, CIA Seal Medal, CIA Director’s Award, and National Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal. Prior to serving in Congress, she was a top aide in the U.S. Senate, deputy cabinet secretary to President Jimmy Carter, and special counsel to the Department of Defense. In April 2011, she assumed the seat of her late husband, Harman International Industries founder and Newsweek chairman Sidney Harman, on Newsweek & The Daily Beast’s board of directors.

As vice president of the Ford Foundation’s Democracy Rights and Justice program, Maya L. Harris leads worldwide efforts to strengthen the rule of law, improve government transparency and accountability, and create opportunities for civil society to thrive and fulfill the promise of human rights. Previously, Harris was executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, where she oversaw litigation, public education, lobbying, and grassroots organizing work on issues ranging from racial and criminal justice to reproductive, immigrant, and LGBT rights. Harris was also dean of Lincoln Law School of San Jose—at the time the nation’s youngest law-school dean—and has been a civil litigator, researcher, and adjunct law professor.

MELLODY HOBSONPRESIDENT, ARIEL INVESTMENTS

As president of Ariel Investments, Mellody Hobson is responsible for the firm’s management and strategic planning, overseeing all operations outside of research and portfolio management. She also serves as chairman of the board of trustees for Ariel Investment Trust. A nationally recognized voice on financial literacy and investor education, Hobson is a regular contributor to Good Morning America, consumer-finance expert on Tom Joyner’s Money Mondays radio program, and columnist for Black Enterprise. JUDITH RODINPRESIDENT, ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION

Judith Rodin is the president of the Rockefeller Foundation, one of the world’s leading philanthropic organizations. Previously, she was the president of the University of Pennsylvania and provost of Yale University. She was the first woman to lead an Ivy League institution and is the first woman to serve as the Rockefeller Foundation’s president. Since joining the Foundation in 2005, Rodin has recalibrated its focus to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Rodin is the author of more than 200 academic articles and 12 books, has received more than 16 honorary degrees, and serves on the board of several leading corporations and nonprofits. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Rodin earned her Ph.D. in psychology from Columbia University.

SHERYL SANDBERGCOO, FACEBOOK

Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer, oversees the firm’s business operations, including sales, marketing, business development, human resources, public policy, and communications. Prior to Facebook, she was vice president of global online sales and operations at Google and was instrumental in launching Google’s philanthropic arm. Sandberg has also served as chief of staff for the United States Treasury Department under President Bill Clinton, where she helped lead the Treasury’s work on forgiving debt in the developing world; a management consultant with McKinsey & Company; and an economist with the World Bank. A graduate of Harvard University who holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, Sandberg serves on the boards of the Walt Disney Company, Starbucks, Women for Women International, Center for Global Development, and V-Day.

MERYL STREEPACTOR

For over 30 years, Meryl Streep has portrayed an astonishing array of characters in a career that has cut its own unique path through American theater, film, and television. She recently won her third Academy Award for The Iron Lady, which was also honored with a Golden Globe and the British Academy Award. Streep is a passionate supporter of women’s rights and the environment, lending her efforts to such advocacy groups as Mothers and Others, Equality Now, Women for Women International, and Partners in Health. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Film Institute, the 2010 National Medal of Arts by President Obama, and a Kennedy Center Honor.

Diane von Furstenberg first arrived in the fashion world in 1972 with her iconic wrap dress, the seed of what is today a global fashion lifestyle brand. By 1976, von Furstenberg had sold millions of her dresses, coming to represent female power and freedom for an entire generation. In 1997, she re-emerged on the New York fashion scene and began rebuilding her company. In 2005, von Furstenberg was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America and has been president of the CFDA since 2006. Von Furstenberg is also on the board of Vital Voices, and in 2010 established the DVF Awards to honor the courage of female social activists around the world.

NOORJAHAN AKBARCOFOUNDER AND MEMBER, YOUNG WOMEN FOR CHANGE

Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1991, Noorjahan Akbar started working at an early age as a writer of children’s programs for Radio Azadi (Radio Free Europe). She later worked for Huma Media Group and Huma Monthly Publication and, in 2005, began writing for Radio Television of Afghanistan. Her employment as a translator for the German Technical Cooperation Agency-Basic Education Program for Afghanistan led to the publication of a book of short stories for children. In 2010, Akbar ran a writing program for children and youth called Voices for Hope, which inspired Stories to Heal, a project that assisted Afghan orphans with creative writing. In 2011, Akbar cofounded Young Women for Change, an organization dedicated to empowering women in Afghanistan. She attends Dickinson College.

LYNSEY ADDARIOPHOTOGRAPHER

Lynsey Addario is an American photojournalist based in London, where she contributes to The New York Times, National Geographic, Time, and Newsweek. In 2000, she traveled to Afghanistan to document life and oppression under the Taliban. She has since covered conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Darfur, and the Congo, and shoots features across the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. Addario has received numerous awards, including the Overseas Press Club’s Olivier Rebbot Award for “Veiled Rebellion,” documenting the plight of women in Afghanistan, and the MacArthur Fellowship 2009. She was part of The New York Times team that won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting, for her photographs in “Talibanistan.” Addario was named one of 20 women on Oprah Winfrey’s Power List, in 2010.

JILL ABRAMSONEXECUTIVE EDITOR, THE NEW YORK TIMES

In September 2011, Jill Abramson became the first woman to serve as executive editor of The New York Times, the paper’s highest-ranking newsroom position, overseeing the Times’s news reporting in all its forms. From 2003 until 2011, Abramson was the Times’s managing editor, helping to guide the newsroom through a turbulent period. Prior to joining the Times in 1997, Abramson worked at The Wall Street Journal, where she served as deputy bureau chief in Washington, D.C., and as an investigative reporter, covering money and politics. Abramson is coauthor of Strange Justice: The Selling of Clarence Thomas, a nonfiction finalist for the National Book Award and National Book Critics Circle Award in 1994, and Where They Are Now: The Story of the Women of Harvard Law 1974.

MADELEINE K. ALBRIGHTCHAIR OF ALBRIGHT STONEBRIDGE GROUP, FORMER U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE

Madeleine K. Albright is chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm, and chair of Albright Capital Management LLC, an investment advisery firm focused on emerging markets. In 1997, she was named U.S. Secretary of State, becoming the first woman to hold that position and, at that time, the highest-ranking woman in the history of the U.S. government. From 1993 to 1997, Albright served as the U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations and was a member of President Clinton’s Cabinet. She is a professor at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, chairs both the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs and the Pew Global Attitudes Project, and serves as president of the Truman Scholarship Foundation.

CHAZ AKOSHILEJOINT HEAD, FORCED MARRIAGE UNIT

Chaz Akoshile is the joint head of the Forced Marriage Unit (FMU), a joint Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Home Office unit, established in 2005, that is the U.K. government’s delivery arm for tackling all cases of forced marriage. The role of the FMU also extends to working closely with partners across government, statutory agencies, and voluntary organizations in the U.K. to develop effective policy for combating forced marriage. The FMU runs a public helpline providing confidential advice and support to victims and to practitioners handling cases of forced marriage. Akoshile also has extensive experience identifying and disseminating best practices in the community-safety field, having previously been responsible for promoting problem-solving approaches to tackling crime among community safety partnerships across England and Wales.

CHRISTIANE AMANPOURGLOBAL AFFAIRS ANCHOR, ABC NEWS; HOST AND CHIEF INTERNATIONAL CORRESPONDENT, CNN INTERNATIONAL

Christiane Amanpour is the global affairs anchor at ABC News, as well as host of Amanpour and chief international correspondent for CNN International. Her illustrious career in journalism spans three decades. When she became an international correspondent for CNN in 1990, her first major assignment was covering the Gulf War. She has since reported from the world’s major hotspots, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Somalia, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Asia, Rwanda, the Balkans, and the U.S. during Hurricane Katrina, and has interviewed most of the top world leaders. Amanpour has received every major broadcast award, including an inaugural Television Academy Award, nine News and Documentary Emmys, and four George Foster Peabody Awards, as well as nine honorary degrees.

Asenath Andrews founded and is the principal of Catherine Ferguson Academy, an alternative public high school for teen mothers that also provides early education services for their children. For the last 11 years, every graduate has been accepted into college with financial aid. The school was recognized as a Breakthrough High School by the National Association of Secondary Principals. Andrews was named an Educator of the Year by the Milken Family Foundation. She is adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan and Madonna University, a research assistant at Moore & Associates Market Research, and a board member and trustee of Olivet College, and has served on the boards of Michigan Association for Art Education, Michigan Alternative Education Organization, and Young Audiences of Michigan.

MALÚ GARCIA ANDRADEDIRECTOR GENERAL, LEGAL, NUESTRAS HIJAS DE REGRESO A CASA A.C.

After the murder of her only sister, Lilia, in 2001 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Malú Garcia Andrade and her mother Norma have become dedicated to fighting for justice for the many women in the region who, like Lilia, have died tragically. They founded May Our Daughters Return Home (Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa, NHRC) and Andrade has devoted herself to nationally and internationally publicizing the pattern of murdered women in Ciudad Juarez. Today, Andrade works with the Commission on Human Rights to bring cases of femicide to justice and in 2011 began a campaign to end human trafficking. Because of her tireless work as a human rights defender, Andrade has been the victim of various death threats and harassment. In February 2011, her home was set on fire and she was forced to leave Juarez and now continues her work from Mexico City.

NORMA ANDRADEFOUNDER, NUESTRAS HIJAS DE REGRESO A CASA A.C.

After the murder of her daughter, Lilia, in 2001 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Norma Andrade and her surviving daughter Malú Garcia Andrade have since become dedicated to fighting for justice for the many women who have died tragically like Lilia in the region. They founded May Our Daughters Return Home (Nuestras Hijas de Regreso a Casa, NHRC) and Norma has devoted herself to nationally and internationally publicizing the pattern of murdered women in Ciudad Juarez and defending the killed and the kidnapped. Because of her tireless work as a human rights defender Norma has been victim to various death threats and harassment. In December 2011, Norma was shot several times and even after going into hiding she was attacked again in February 2012 in Mexico City. She continues her work to bring justice to her daughter’s death and those of many others.

NAMEES ARNOUSCO-FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, BOKRA FOR MEDIA PRODUCTION, MEDIA STUDIES AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Namees Arnous began her career in media as a television reporter at an independent Egyptian television station. She resigned from her position after being asked to inaccurately portray the protesters involved in last year’s revolution in Egypt. Arnous co-founded the NGO Bokra for Media Production, Media Studies and Human Rights, whose focus is to enhance freedom of expression, human rights and democracy, and to train young journalists in professional media.

SONDOS ASEMCO-EDITOR, THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD’S IKHWANWEB.COM; MEDIA RESEARCHER

Sondos Asem is an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood activist, political commentator, and co-editor of ikhwanweb.com, the Brotherhood’s official English site, and @Ikhwanweb on Twitter. A publisher by profession, she is also a post-graduate student at the American University in Cairo, where she is currently writing a Master’s thesis on the use of social-media by Egyptian youth during the January 25 Revolution. Sondos actively participated in the protests that took place on January 25, 2011, leading to the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak after 30 years of his authoritarian rule.

ZOE BEDELLANALYST, FOROS GROUP

Zoe Bedell, an analyst at the investment bank Foros, joined the United States Marine Corps in 2007 and was assigned as a logistics officer. She was deployed from October 2009 to April 2010 as the current operations officer with Combat Logistics Battalion-1. She then accepted an assignment as the Regional Command (Southwest) Female Engagement Team officer-in-charge and, from June 2010 to April 2011, trained and deployed a group of 47 Marines to provide FET support throughout southwest Afghanistan. Bedell is working on a book about her experiences with the Female Engagement Team. She graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Politics and minors in Near Eastern Studies and French.

Kim K. Azzarelli is Vice President, New Ventures at The Newsweek/Daily Beast Company and President of the Women in the World Foundation. After graduating from Yale University in 2004, she worked for Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Capetown, South Africa, and interned for UNICEF in Botswana. Bush is a member of UNICEF’s NextGen and is on the board of Covenant House International, PSI, and Friends of the Global Fight. She is a Draper Richards Foundation Social Entrepreneur and a fellow of the Echoing Green Foundation.

Candace Browning is head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research, which has more than 1,000 employees located across 20 countries. Her team provides economic forecasts for nearly 60 countries as well as investment recommendations and analyses on approximately 40 currencies, 19 commodities, 3,300 stocks, and 1,000 credits. The group was recently named Top Global Research Firm of 2011 by Institutional Investor. Browning joined Merrill Lynch in 1990 as a U.S. airline analyst, ranking in Institutional Investor’s all-star analyst survey 17 consecutive years. She is a member of the St. Paul’s School Board of Trustees and has been named for the last three years by American Banker as one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance.

Juju Chang is an Emmy Award-winning correspondent for ABC News’ Nightline and reports regularly for Good Morning America and 20/20. Chang also hosts Moms Get Real, a digital show for ABC News NOW that cracks the facade of perfect mommyhood. Chang has covered breaking news such as the Haiti earthquake and the deadly mine disaster in West Virginia and received an Emmy Award for team coverage of the California wildfires. A former news anchor for Good Morning America, Chang had also anchored the early morning newscasts World News Now and World News This Morning. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a founding board member of the Korean American Community Foundation.

Chelsea Clinton has worked at McKinsey & Company and Avenue Capital and studied at Stanford, Oxford, and Columbia universities. She is currently pursuing a doctorate at Oxford, working at New York University, and working with the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative. HILLARY RODHAM CLINTONU.S. SECRETARY OF STATE

Hillary Rodham Clinton became the 67th U.S. Secretary of State after decades in public service as an advocate, attorney, first lady, and senator from New York. As first lady, she led bipartisan efforts on adoption and foster care, teen pregnancy, and health-care for children, and traveled the world as an advocate for human rights and democracy. As senator, she worked to rebuild New York after 9/11, address lasting health concerns of first responders, create economic opportunity, and improve health-care for service members and veterans. DEMBA DIAWARAIMAM, VILLAGE CHIEF OF KEUR SIMBARA, SENEGAL; HUMAN-RIGHTS ACTIVIST, TOSTAN

Demba Diawara is an extraordinary grassroots leader in the movement to promote human rights and women’s health in Senegal. Beginning in 1997, Diawara was instrumental in the development of the NGO Tostan’s approach to changing social norms. As an imam, an Islamic religious authority, and chief of his village of Keur Simbara, Senegal, he dedicated himself to building regional consensus for the abandonment of harmful traditional practices formerly considered taboo to discuss. His patient and persistent effort to raise awareness among interconnected communities led to more than 5,000 communities in West and East Africa to publicly declare abandonment of female genital cutting and child/forced marriage.

ALBERT DAVIDMBE; HEAD OF CONSULAR ASSISTANCE, BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION, ISLAMABAD

As the head of consular assistance at the British High Commission in Islamabad, Albert David helps ensure that British nationals, vulnerable to human-rights abuse, are provided timely and effective services. He has worked extensively on the issue of forced marriage, helping to develop policies and devise strategies to rescue victims that have been adopted as best practice in many areas, including South Asia. David also helped shape the U.K.-Pakistan Protocol on Child Matters. Conferred MBE (Honorary Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II, David has served as an honorary member of Minority Advisery Council Punjab, which seeks interfaith harmony, and is the founding member and chairman of Support Children, an NGO advocating children’s rights in Pakistan.

CHRIS DICKEYPARIS BUREAU CHIEF AND MIDDLE EAST REGIONAL EDITOR, NEWSWEEK & THE DAILY BEAST

Award-winning author Christopher Dickey is the Paris bureau chief and Middle East regional editor for Newsweek & The Daily Beast. He has written many of the magazine’s cover stories, including recent profiles of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde. Dickey’s columns online, which draw on decades of experience as a war correspondent, focus on counterinsurgency, espionage, and the Muslim world. Raised in the village of Bassending in the Upper River Region (URR) of the Gambia, 20-year-old Abdoulie Sidibeh is an active proponent for human rights in his community. While participating in the NGO Tostan’s nonformal education program, the Community Empowerment Program, he built consensus with his fellow community members on the importance of respect for human rights, especially the rights of women and children. Abdoulie, along with other dedicated Gambian youth, organized a five-day awareness-raising event in October 2011 that allowed them to share this message with communities and government officials throughout the URR. Emerging as a leader, Abdoulie works to encourage youth to be key human rights advocates in the Gambia.

JULIA C. SILVERMANCOFOUNDER AND CHIEF SOCIAL OFFICER, UNCHARTED PLAY, INC.

Julia C. Silverman is the cofounder of Uncharted Play, Inc. and the co-inventor of the sOccket, a portable generator in the form of a soccer ball. Suma Tharu comes from rural Nepal, the only girl among four children born to an impoverished mother and father. At age 6, Suma was sold into the Kamlari system, a form of caste-based indentured servitude, by her parents. In this outlawed tradition, Kamlari girls (“servant girls”) are not paid, cannot attend school, and are put to work all day and often beaten while living as captives. After six years, Suma was rescued by a local nonprofit group. In 2008, she received a second chance at an education thanks to the global nonprofit organization Room to Read. Suma is now expected to graduate secondary school in 2014, and she hopes to become a health teacher in order to help educate and empower other young girls.

SANDRA UWIRINGIYIMANAGENOCIDE SURVIVOR; SPOKESPERSON, FOUNDATION OF HOPE MINISTRIES, ROCHESTER, NY; PHOTOGRAPHER

Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sandra Uwiringiyimana was compelled by civil war to move with her family to a United Nations refugee camp in 2004. After an attack on the camp in which more than 166 people were killed, she and her family moved to Rwanda, where they struggled for two years before they were granted refugee status and, in April 2007, allowed to move to Rochester, NY. Uwiringiyimana’s family has cofounded the Foundation of Hope Ministries, a nonprofit organization that performs songs and shares testimonies about the Gatumba genocide to raise money for the orphans and widows left in Africa. Uwiringiyimana is working to pursue higher education and to help other young people to do so as well.

Melanne Verveer is the first person to hold the position of ambassador-at-large for global women’s issues, created by President Obama in 2009. GABI ZEDLMAYERVICE PRESIDENT, SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL INNOVATION, HP

Gabi Zedlmayer drives sustainability and social innovation programs aligned with HP’s business strategy. She leads a global team of experts focused on solving social issues in collaboration with nonprofit organizations, governments, customers, and partners. She seeks to create sustainable solutions that address societal challenges in education, health-care, and the environment. Zedlmayer also co-leads HP’s Global Citizenship Council and serves on the board of directors of Junior Achievement Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Hewlett-Packard GmbH, Germany, and the EU Commission e-skills leadership board. She is a member of the Executive Diversity Forum for HP in EMEA and the Women’s Council of HypoVereinsbank UNICREDIT. In 2011, Zedlmayer was honored by Newsweek & The Daily Beast as one of 150 Women Who Shake the World.

JULIE ZEILINGERFOUNDER AND EDITOR, THE FBOMB (THEFBOMB.ORG)

Julie Zeilinger, an 18-year-old Barnard College student from Pepper Pike, Ohio, is the founder and editor of The FBomb (thefbomb.org), a feminist blog and community for young adults who care about their rights and want to be heard. The FBomb posts articles by teen and college-aged feminists about issues ranging from pop culture to self-image to politics and social justice. Zeilinger and The FBomb have been featured in media outlets such as More, Women’s Day, Bust, Bitch, and Salon, among others. She recently wrote a book for Seal Press about teenage feminism, entitled A Little F’d Up: Why Feminism Is Not a Dirty Word, which will be published in early May.

MEI ZHANGFOUNDER AND CHAIRPERSON, WILDCHINA

Mei Zhang, founder and chairperson of WildChina, a premium, sustainable travel company based in Beijing, is a native of Yunnan province in southwest China. She holds an M.B.A. from Harvard and worked for McKinsey & Company until she found her true passion in sustainable travel. While serving as a consultant to the Nature Conservancy, Zhang witnessed the push and pull between economic development and conservation of both nature and culture in Yunnan. She strongly believed there was a for-profit solution to this: providing sophisticated interpretation of Chinese culture and nature through experiential travel. This revolutionary concept led to the creation of WildChina in 2000. Together with former WildChina CEO Albert Ng, Zhang has built an award-winning, socially responsible business.

DALIA ZIADAEGYPT DIRECTOR, AMERICAN ISLAMIC CONGRESS

Dalia Ziada, director of the American Islamic Congress Egypt Office, is dedicated to promoting women’s rights, freedom of expression, and nonviolent action in Egypt. She has been honored by Newsweek as one of 150 Women Who Shake the World, by The Daily Beast as one of world’s 17 Bravest Bloggers, and by Time as a women’s rights champion. She is a frequent guest lecturer and has spoken in front of the U.S. Congress, as well as at major universities, on panels all over the world, and in the international media. Ziada has received the Anna Lindh Award for Online Journalism and the Tufts University Presidential Award for Making a Difference in the World. She was an on-the-ground player in the Arab Spring.
