Nicole Cannon started out as an actress with roles in television shows including CSI and The Mentalist. She saw more power in a platform focused on writing and directing rather than acting, as she found herself put into too many “victim” roles. Originally writing Transference as a short film, Cannon wrote the project as a healing process for her own childhood abuse, although the story itself is fictional. It came to fruition as a second-year project for the University of Santa Monica spiritual psychology program. This is Cannon’s first professional writing gig.
