Charlamagne Tha God Won’t Come Out for Biden After Getting ‘Burned’ With 2020 Endorsement
‘MAIN-CHARACTER ENERGY’
The hip-hop radio juggernaut criticized both Democrats and Republicans—as well as their respective presumptive candidates—but said he still plans to vote “to preserve democracy.”

Charlamagne Tha God won’t say which horse he’s backing in this election cycle, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to read between the lines. Bashing the Democratic Party as “cowards” and Republicans as “crooks” in a new wide-ranging interview with The New York Times, the hip-hop radio juggernaut still acknowledged the 2024 presidential election will “probably [be] the most consequential election of my lifetime.” And though President Joe Biden is “an uninspiring candidate who doesn’t have any main-character energy,” Donald Trump is “different,” according to Charlamagne, who pointed out that the former president is “a would-be dictator.” The media personality said he knows “who I want to vote for in November in order to preserve democracy,” but added it would be “a grave disservice” not to call out both sides for their respective flaws. That truth-telling, however, means he won’t be publicly endorsing Biden, unlike in 2020. “I just feel like I’ve been burned with that before,” he said, explaining that he feels the Biden administration has largely failed to deliver on his lofty campaign promises.
