Following his closed-door meeting with Donald Trump at Republican National Committee headquarters, House Speaker Paul Ryan said he was “very encouraged” by their exchange and feels that while uniting the party behind the presumptive nominee will “take some time,” he believes it is possible. “We talked about our differences,” Ryan said. “It was also important that we discuss the core principles that tie us all together. Principles like the Constitution, the separation of powers, the fact that we have an executive that has gone way beyond the boundaries of the Constitution.”
