Christian Siriano’s show—featuring an epic 66 looks, for all body types—was both political and playful, with seat-cards featuring the designer’s support of Cynthia Nixon, and the designer himself in a ‘I’m Voting For Cynthia’ T-shirt.(His former partner Brad Walsh, who did music for the show, sat front row in a‘Fuck Trump’ T-shirt.)
Siriano’s front row also featured Nixon, alongside Tiffany Haddish, Whoopi Goldberg, and Judith Light. The theme of the show was Hawaii, and so the dresses were bright,or featured—as his show notes had it—tropical prints, animal print organza separates, textured raffia coats, jackets and bright citrus evening gowns.
There was also the odd killer black gown in there, although the last thing we saw was a stunning tulle gown in acid green and three flamingo-pink bedecked models. Color is resistance.
