Croatia shuttered seven of its eight border crossings with Serbia in an effort to slow the flow of migrants entering the country, officials in Zagreb said Thursday. More than 10,000 people have entered the country since Hungary sealed off its border with Serbia this week, overwhelming asylum reception centers and leaving many stranded in the streets. The road crossing between Belgrade and Zagreb appeared to be the only one left open, the BBC reports. Croatian officials added roads leading to the border crossings were also closed. Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic said the country was “absolutely full,” telling migrants “this is not the road to Europe.”
