NOT ANYMORE

Ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn No Longer Joining Lobbying Firm

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn will no longer be joining the global lobbying firm Stonington Global LLC, with Flynn’s lawyers citing a “misunderstanding.” The Wall Street Journal reports that Flynn’s deal to “partner” with the firm is “off” and the release from Stonington was a mistake on its part. “General Flynn has not joined Stonington and did not personally issue any public statement,” attorneys Robert Kelner and Stephen Anthony said in a statement. “He was aware that a statement was being drafted, but he did not intend that it be issued at this time.” Lobbyists Nick Muzin and Joey Allaham told the newspaper earlier Tuesday that they started the firm with Flynn but now could not comment on his “considerations about the timing of the announcement.” Despite the walk back, they said they “look[ed] forward to working together.” Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to federal prosecutors last year in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and faces up to six months in jail.
