Five of the six people killed when a bridge collapsed onto traffic near Florida International University on Thursday have been identified, the Miami Herald reports. Rescuers pulled three bodies out of the wreckage on Saturday, as an investigation continues into whether a crack in the bridge caused the tragedy. An 18-year-old FIU student, Alexa Duran, was the youngest victim reported so far. Her father, Orlando Duran, confirmed her death to the el Nuevo Herald. “My little girl was trapped in the car and couldn’t get out,” he told the paper. Navaro Brown, a 37-year-old employee of Structural Technologies VSL, a company involved in work on the bridge, was also killed when the bridge came down. Sixty-year-old Rolando Fraga, a systems technician originally from Cuba, was also confirmed killed. Two other Florida residents with ties to Cuba were among those killed, including Osvaldo González, 58, and Alberto Arias, 54. Marisol González, the sister of Osvaldo González, told the Miami Herald her brother’s white van was retrieved on Saturday morning. “Imagine, his car was as flat as a cracker,” she said.
