Retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, who earned the ignominious distinction of becoming the shortest-serving national security adviser when he resigned this week, is now suffering a new indignity: His security clearance has been suspended by the agency he once commanded.
The Defense Intelligence Agency has suspended Flynn’s “access to classified information... pending a review,” said DIA spokesman Jim Kudla in an interview Wednesday. “This is a standard administrative action taken when questions arise concerning an individual’s compliance with security matters.”
Flynn resigned Monday at President Donald Trump’s request, because he failed to disclose to Vice President Pence that he had discussed Obama administration sanctions with the Russian ambassador to Washington, prior to the inauguration.
