France’s National Front leader Marine Le Pen welcomed Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency before the race was officially over on Tuesday night. “Congratulations to the new president of the United States Donald Trump and to the American people, free!” she wrote on Twitter at around 1 a.m. Both Le Pen and her father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, seemed bolstered by Trump’s success, using it to push Marine’s own presidential ambitions in France. Jean Marie Le Pen, the founder of the anti-Islam National Front party, said “the Americans want from @realDonaldTrump to be their ‘president of the people.’ Today the U.S., tomorrow France. Bravo!”
