Most women are ill informed about the facts of fertility. One thousand women between the ages of 25 and 35 who had met with doctors regarding their fertility were given a survey with 10 questions about the basics of getting pregnant. According to the National Infertility Association, which conducted the survey, fewer than half of these women answered 70 percent of the questions correctly. The facts that most women are unaware of deal with the time it takes to get pregnant and the difficulty of doing so at older ages. This misinformation is what leads to distraught older women frustrated and confused by the fact that they can't conceive, leaving them with fewer options than if they'd been aware of the facts in the first place.
