NBC News/WSJ Poll: Obamacare More Popular than Ever

While the Republican Party, under President-elect Donald Trump’s insistence, doubles down on efforts to repeal Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act—as it is more formally known—is more popular than ever, according to a new NBC News/WSJ poll. The poll reveals that half of Americans have little-to-no confidence that the GOP proposals will improve health-care coverage. And while favorability ratings of Obama’s signature health-care legislation continue to differ between the two major parties, the new poll found that 45 percent of respondents believed the health-care law is a good idea—the highest percentage since NBC/WSJ began polling its favorability in 2009.
