Bendet sent her models jet-setting to North Africa, Tokyo, the ritzy Mexican resort of Careyes, Paris (where they lounged at the ‘Café du Stace’), and, of course, Wonderland.
Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet’s fantasy worlds always have a whimsical, topsy-turvy feel to them, and the Spring ’19 show was no different, writes Katie Baker. The collection felt like a Mad Hatter tea party for a global Instagram age: models posed in a series of ‘cities’—from Positano to Tokyo and Paris—each more eye-popping than the last. It was a show made for social media, perfect for snapping and sharing, and indeed the guests gleefully selfie-d away. Take that, Color Factory.
