Man Dressed as Delivery Worker Shot Woman With Crossbow Concealed in Box: Cops
NIGHTMARISH
A Canadian woman was left with life-altering injuries after a suspect posing as a delivery worker shot her with a crossbow that was concealed inside a large cardboard box, police say. The attack, which is being investigated as an attempted murder, happened in November in Mississauga, Ontario. This week, police released video footage of the suspect at the victim's door in the hope of tracking him down. Investigators believe the victim answered her front door, had a brief conversation with the suspect, before she was shot with a crossbow concealed inside the box. The suspect's right hand was in the box and investigators believe it was used to trigger the crossbow and fire, Peel Regional Police Detective Sergeant Jim Kettles said. Division Superintendent Heather Ramore said Monday: “The victim suffered massive trauma that was both life-threatening and life-altering ... The attack was meant to end the victim's life.” The woman has been released from hospital but is not expected to ever fully recover from the injuries.
