It was only a matter of time. Romeo Beckham, the 10-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham, is now officially a model: he stars in Burberry’s brand new Spring 2013 campaign.
In campaign images released Monday, Romeo frolicks in Burberry trousers and a trench coat (with the collar turned up) and mischievously waves an umbrella at models Edie Campbell and Charlie France. Beckham was reportedly handpicked for the campaign by Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s Chief Creative officer, and the campaign was photographed by Mario Testino. (According to Bailey, Romeo “stole the show” during the shoot.)
In October, Romeo was seen copying his father’s neck tattoo – attempting to scribble the name of his young sister, Harper, on his collarbone. And it’s clear that already Romeo understands the importance of wearing the brand. Just last week, he appeared alongside his brothers, Brooklyn and Cruz dress all in bespoke suits by Burberry Tailoring.
Romeo and his siblings have had what seems like a normal childhood since they move to Los Angeles for their father’s job with the LA Galaxy. They dutifully attend his soccer games, sit front row at Laker games, and spent their summer surfing in Malibu.
As his mother told Ryan Seacrest in 2010, Romeo "loves fashion. He likes to go out in a suit with a bowler hat…he's a real fashion lover."
