This Luxury Watch Is Inspired by a Newly Discovered Trappist-1 Solar System
Moonphase
NASA recently discovered a solar system similar to ours called Trappist-1. While it's not likely that we'll get to travel there anytime soon (it's 39 light years away), that doesn't mean that you won't get the chance to take a spiritual trip to these new planets. The Xeric Trappist-1 Moonphase Watch pays tribute to this newly-discovered system by incorporating a hypothetical space journey into its design. Instead of telling time through hands, there's a planet that shows the hour and another that shows the minutes, along with a center viewing window that shows the current moon phase. The watch's facade features a domed crystal made from Hesalite, a material initially developed for NASA. This otherworldly watch normally retails for $350, but The Daily Beast Readers can buy one today for $244.99.
