The Trump administration will soon end temporary protected status (TPS) for around 9,000 Nepali immigrants, The Washington Post reports. Those individuals would face deportation after June 24, 2019. Nepalis were granted the temporary status after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake rocked the country in 2015. The decision from the Department of Homeland Security follows previous actions to cancel TPS for Salvadorans and Haitians, among other nationalities.
