Trump Picks His White House Physician as New VA Secretary

President Donald Trump on Wednesday nominated his presidential physician, Adm. Ronny L. Jackson, to replace his fired veterans affairs secretary, David Shulkin. The embattled Shulkin, a holdover from the Obama administration, had been under fire over alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. Jackson was nominated by Obama in 2013 and retained by Trump. He performed Trump’s first presidential physical last year, joking during a press conference: “I told the president that if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years he might live to be 200 years old.”
