The University of North Carolina linebacker who is accused of sexual battery and assault has turned himself in to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, according to a statement released by the department. Allen Artis allegedly raped fellow student Delaney Robinson during a party at the school's athletic dorm, and she contends that local law enforcement and school officials did not appropriately investigate the alleged crime. Robinson, a sophomore and pre-business student, held a press conference on Tuesday condemning the school's actions. She has filed "self-sworn" warrants, which were signed by a magistrate on Tuesday. District Attorney Jim Woodall told The Daily Beast on Wednesday that the investigation is still active and open. About 9 a.m., Artis was released by the magistrate under a $5,000 bond.
