After you’ve learned which knife to use for what task and how to take care of them, it’s time to consider how you’ll store them. That's where a universal knife holder comes in.
Metal knife holders are sleek and simple, but could potentially bend the blade of your knife if you’re not careful. Knife blocks are classic, but only really perform their best with the knives they were made for. That’s why the universal knife holder is king. I’ve had one on my counter for over a year and I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it.
The flexible rods adapt to any size knife, meaning you can stick anything from a long serrated bread knife to a stubby paring knife into the cluster of rods and it’ll hold it all the same. Mine currently holds at least seven knives of varying length and I never feel that they’re at risk of hitting each other or, even worse, falling out. It’s also slim enough to fit into an unused corner of my counter but still has the same amount of blade real estate as a regular knife block.
One-size-fits-all doesn’t usually work out when it comes to kitchen tools, but a universal knife holder is a major exception to that rule.
