The Maryland town of Waldorf is in mourning after a 5-year-old boy was killed in a shock bouncy house accident on Friday. The accident, which left another child with minor injuries, occurred during a Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball game when the inflatable went airborne. According to CNN, the house flew onto the field during the game after a gust of wind picked it up. A news release put out by Charles County explains that the children inside were lifted “15 to 20 feet up in the air” before falling to the ground. The victim was assisted by paramedics before being taken to a local children’s hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The team’s general manager, Courtney Knichel, expressed her sympathy and said, “our entire organization shares our condolences with the family mourning the loss of a child, and concern for the child who was injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.” In light of the event, both Saturday’s and Sunday’s games were postponed.
