The declarations of love (and subsequent competitive threats) from shrieking tweens dressed head-to-toe in purple were to be expected. The hoots and hollers from the pre-pubescent audience any time the 16-year-old pop star revealed his shirtless, scrawny upper half were equally predictable. Their harmonious sing-a-longs and “awws,” in unison when his home videos and baby pictures popped up, were also easily foreseeable.
