Prince Harry and his ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy have sparked speculation that a reconciliation may be in the air after they both attended a dinner party over the weekend at Windsor Castle to mark Princess Eugenie’s 22nd birthday.
The news will come as little surprise to friends of Prince Harry who have long insisted that Chelsy and Harry are destined for each other. The apparent matchmaking by Eugenie also raises the possibility that the Firm believes the two are a good fit.
A palace insider told the Sunday Express of the dinner party: “Prince Harry was there and so was Chelsy. Clearly they are still close. They appeared at ease with each other and were chatting happily together. Whether they have rekindled their relationship is anyone’s guess but they certainly seemed very friendly.”
The reports appear to cast doubt on the depth of the relationship between Chelsy and Blaise Patrick, the art dealer with whom Chelsy was spotted sharing a passionate clinch with at London’s Chinawhite nightclub last weekend.
Meanwhile the Daily Star is reporting that Harry has been wearing a silver pendant around his neck believed to have been given to him by Chelsy. It was seen during the game of beach rugby the Prince played on his tour of Brazil.
Guests arrived by minibus to Eugenie’s party, which was catered for by Heston Blumenthal. The quirky menu included snail porridge, meat-flavoured lollipops, meringues with dry ice and shellfish that had to be eaten while listening to music.
Chelsy grew close to the princesses while dating their cousin Harry.
Sixty years and hardly a slip.
