And What Do You Do? Queen and Philip Make Some New Friends

Queen and Philip snapped with naval figureheads

The Queen, a 75-year veteran of the public appearance lark, doesn’t particularly like being stitched up into silly photographs, and Philip and herself don’t look too happy in this snap taken today with a selection of naval figureheads at the reopening of the historic British tea clipper, the Cutty Sark, which was damaged by fire five years ago.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II (L) and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (R), stand with a collection of Merchant Navy figureheads installed under the tea clipper Cutty Sark during a visit to re-open the ship in Greenwich, east London, on April 25, 2012. The Cutty Sark, built in 1869 was one of the last and one of the fastest tea clippers to be built. The Cutty Sark was badly damaged by fire on in May 2007 but after a 50 million pounds ($80.6 million) restoration project the vessel is restored and will reopen to the public on April 26.
