Condi’s New Gig: Condoleezza Rice has a new job – and it’s not what you’d expect. Condi stars in a new NFL ad campaign for their recently-introduced line of women’s apparel, wearing the jersey of her favorite team, the Cleveland Browns. Because nothing says fashion quite like the former secretary of state in a football jersey. [NFL]

All Hail, Minnie Mouse: It’s been about 20 years since we thought of Minnie Mouse as a fashion icon. But this season, that’s bound to change: the Disney character has been selected as the official muse of London Fashion Week for the coming season. In celebration, designers including Richard Nicoll and Giles Deacon will design a collection of Minnie-inspired looks that will be auctioned on Ebay to benefit the UK’s Fashion Arts Foundation. In addition, British designers Meadham Kirchoff are dedicating their entire Spring 2013 collection to Ms. Mouse. So, let’s expect to see Minnie make a return to the streets next year. [Vogue UK]

This Could Be You: Well this is refreshing: J. Crew’s new campaign features an array of pretty people—but not a single one of them is a model. They’ve enlisted everyone from fashion editors to perfumers for their new ads, each outfitted in the brand’s signature preppy color-blocked aesthetic. Among the normals are Tank Magazine‘s Caroline Issa, Le Figaro’s Virginie Mouzat, Phillips de Pury‘s Joe Carlucci, and Tumblr‘s David Karp. As J.Crew’s chief marketing officer Diego Scotti explained: “We chose very accomplished people who have an impact on our customers and culture in general. They appreciate quality and detail. Our customers identify with them, but the campaign is not about celebrities. It’s the right moment to tell our story about quality in a little louder way.” [Fashionista]
