William and Kate To Make First UK Appearance This Week Since Naked Pictures

William and Kate are preparing to re-enter public life after a short hiatus following the publication of pictures of Kate sunbathing topless.

The prince and his bride are heading out on a day tour of the north-east of England on Wednesday, visiting Newcastle, Gateshead and Stockton.

Will and Kate will be looking to use their appearance - the first in the UK after topless photos of Kate emerged - to brush aside any lingering embarrassment over the pictures, however its extremely unlikely the two will obliquely refer to the pictures in the way Harry did when he made his first public appearance after the Vegas pics.

Criminal proceedings are underway in France, and William and Kate are said to be satisfied with the course of action they took.

The royals will meet volunteers for the region who helped at the London Olympics, and visit schools, hospital and research centers.
