Balenciaga Rumors Already Swirling: Yesterday’s news of Nicolas Ghesquière’s departure from Balenciaga may have sent shockwaves throughout the industry, but heated rumors of his possible replacement are already well under way. WWD speculates that Balenciaga’s holding company PPR has their eyes set on a stable of young talents out of London including print queen Mary Katrantzou and underground warrior Thomas Tait. Royal Couture Goes on Exhibit: London’s Fashion and Textiles Museum will open an exhibit next week devoted to royal warrant couturiers who spent their careers dressing the Queen and her affiliated family. “Hartnell to Amies: Couture by Royal Appointment” will include designs by old-world designers like Hardy Amies, Frederick Fox, and Norman Hartnell.
