The Royal tour down under is approaching its end, and there has been a dramatic turn of events today as police in New Zealand arrested a man on suspicion of planning to attack Charles and Camilla.
The man was believed to have been armed with an unidentified item, according to New Zealand state broadcaster TVNZ.
"A 74-year-old was arrested for preparing to commit an assault before the arrival of the royal couple," a police officer told Fairfax Media. The unnamed man got "nowhere near" the royal couple and is expected to appear at Auckland District Court tomorrow.
Sixty years and hardly a slip.
