America's Love Affair with Victory

Years ago, shortly after I'd started school in the United States, my uncle Gerald Rosberg offered this insight into the American character: "Americans love underdogs, but they hate losers."
It still holds true. Our friend Tom Doran forwards this new poll showing that just by winning the November election, President Obama has sent his approval rating spiking back up to its level immediately after the killing of Osama bin Laden.
Americans love a winner.
