Sarah Burton Claims Her OBE, The IKEA Monkey Gets The Marc Jacobs Treatment

And apparently even the people who made the Brad Pitt Chanel ad can't explain it.

Sarah Burton Claims her OBE: Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton was made an Officer of the British Empire this afternoon, and her award was presented by Prince Charles. The designer, now many months pregnant, turned up to the ceremony in an understated black dress, opaque black tights, and conservative heels. She and Charles reportedly shared a lighthearted discussion about Burton’s designs for Kate Middleton’s wedding. [Telegraph]

IKEA Monkey Gets the MJ Treatment: This week’s top meme, the IKEA monkey, has received a high-fashion close-up. Well, kind of. The well-dressed primate that stormed a Canadian IKEA over the weekend has been photo shopped into a Marc Jacobs ad on Tumblr. Though to its credit, the photo’s washed-out, granular quality isn’t quite far from what Jacobs’s seminal photographer, Juergan Teller’s slightly seedy work is famous for. [Fashionista]

Lady Gaga’s Sister, Model?: Lady Gaga’s little sister has taken to modeling. Natali Germanotta, a fashion design student at Parsons, has struck a pose for her parent’s restaurant Joanne Trattoria, alongside assorted Italian treats and boisterous relatives. [The Cut]

Chanel Ads’ Purpose Still Unknown: Vulture caught up with Brad Pitt’s Chanel No.5 advertisement spoof-er, SNL cast member Taram Killam. Killam said he had met with Chanel’s director Joe Wright, and their interaction offers additional proof that no one actually knows what those ads are about. Says Killam: “He was very gracious, and he said, ‘I didn’t actually know what they were about either,’ because it’s just his job to show up, and he’s given the copy.” [Vulture]
