Fantine’s Vegan Shoes: All of Anne Hathaway’s shoes in Les Miserables were reportedly specially made of vegan materials. The actress is a devout vegan, “so we couldn’t use any animal materials on the shoes for her character Fantine,” the film’s costume designer Paco Delgado told Footwear News. Last week, Hathaway stepped on the red carpet in a pair of custom Tom Ford vegan gladiator sandals too. [Footwear News]

Patrick Demarchelier Gets a Lesson in One Direction: It seems that famed fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier isn’t well versed in modern-day boy band IQ. Tasked with photographing One Direction for Vogue UK’s latest issue, Demarchelier wasn’t quite sure who the troupe of boys were, but quickly learned that they were special after hearing a crowd of girls screaming their names outside the set. “So oo iz ziss zat we are shooting? The Beatles?” he asked in a thick French accent. [Vogue UK]

Victoria’s Secret Employs Butt Washers: Ever wonder how Victoria’s Secret models keep their butts sand-free while shooting bathing suits on the beach? It seems that VS employs some sort of butt-washer. We don’t kid. A recent paparazzi snap from a VS shoot depicts a crew member pouring a pail of water over Candice Swanepoel’s derrière. [The Cut]

New Vuitton CEO Steps Down: Louis Vuitton new CEO Jordi Constans, who was appointed last month, has already stepped down.  News came Tuesday that Constans has abdicated his post for medical reasons. “His condition does not allow him to fulfill his duties as CEO,” Antoine Arnault, LVMH board member (and son of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault) told WWD. Constans has been replaced with Michael Burke, who most recently served as CEO of jewelry house Bulgari. [WWD]

Prada’s New Hollywood: Prada’s menswear ads are on a Hollywood roll. Last season, Miuccia Prada cast Willem Dafoe, Gary Oldman, Jamie Bell, and Garrett Hedlund for her fall ads. Now for spring, she’s chosen Benicio Del Toro, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Harvey Keitel, and Dan DeHaan to take over their responsibilities. Photographed by David Sims, the ads will hit magazines in the coming months. [Telegraph]
