We Need Conservative Populism, Ctd.
Seems the University of Phoenix, the nation's largest for-profit "educational" institution, may be set to lose its accreditation. Keeping in mind the shoddy value presented by such schools, here's a really rough proposal: strip all federal student loans from schools that A) fail to meet a significantly higher educational standard; and B) Have costs exceeding the average for non-selective public school in each state.
This needs a lot of work, but my general sense is that if federally guaranteed student loan money is on the table, it should be directed both to the neediest citizens and to insitutions that deliver real value for the dollar.
