We Aren't Building a Death Star, Ctd.
Our Welsh friend Tom Doran comments on the White House's rejection of the Death Star petition
"Let the public submit petitions for the attention of the government" is one of those ideas that sounds lovely in a brainstorming session of wide-eyed, enthusiastic young wonks, then quickly dies when exposed to members of the actual public.
Or, in the words of the British political comedy, The Thick of It:
Peter Mannion: This is the trouble with the public, they're fucking horrible!
Emma Messinger: Peter, you can't say the public are fucking horrible.
Peter Mannion: Yes I can, I've met them.
