Olympia Le Tan's Paris AW 13 Show Gives Us Noodles, Kinky Lederhosen

And lots of yodeling.

It’s not every day that you come across a fashion show entitled “Schnitzel with Noodles”—or attend a catwalk in a hunting museum.

But inside the Musée de la Chasse in Paris Thursday night, guests were greeted by a stuffed polar bear and spent much of the show in a subterranean cave-like room, which housed an alligator.

There were kinky Austrian outfits from the bag-turned-fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan, who presented her second fashion collection here in Paris this week. Le-Tan sent her pin-up models with cinched waists roaming the hallways of the club of the Paris Hunting Museum, under the watchful eye of stuffed stags, in ultra-sexy lederhosen and variations on a traditional Austrian wardrobe to a soundtrack straight out of The Sound of Music.

Yodeling sounds early on signaled the Austrian inspired look, which included kinky knee-high socks with ultrashort skirts perfect for a mountain hike, perhaps, and red riding hood cloaks which played out to tunes such as "My Favorite Things." Other looks included a pinafore dress with stockings;  leather shorts with over-the-knee socks; a velvet shorts jumpsuit and a buxom buttoned-up frumpy velvet dress, innocently paired with white stockings.

And then there were the bags, some of which resembled books and hearts, but all of which took a back seat to the clothes and the splendid setting, filled with tapestries, candelabras, and comfy velvet chairs placed on multiple floors in plushly decorated rooms. Le-Tan, who is best known for her clutches and minaudières, presented her first clothing collection last season, for spring/summer 2013.
