Palin Poised for Fizzy Return
From soda to CPAC, the ex-governor is seeking the spotlight
Are we missing Sarah Palin yet?
Could it be time for a mini-comeback?
You betcha.
I know, we all just wrote her political obituary after Fox News made her a lowball offer and her million-dollar-a-year contract came to an end. Palin was old news, yesterday’s story, out of touch in Wasilla, we declared.
Yeah, but that was weeks ago. Things change, right?

Maybe the former Alaska governor can replace Elizabeth Hasselbeck on The View. (Oh, that was an erroneous report by Us Weekly? Barbara Walters says she’s staying? Never mind.)
Palin popped up on Twitter yesterday when a judge ruled against Michael Bloomberg’s law banning supersized sugary sodas:
“Victory in NYC for liberty-loving soda drinkers. To politicians with too much time on their hands we say: Govt, stay out of my refrigerator!”
Take that, nanny staters.
And she's writing a book about Christmas, coming out in November. It's not an O'Reilly-esque War on Christmas, but A Happy Holiday IS A Merry Christmas. Palin wants to be a stocking stuffer.
More important, Palin is speaking this week at CPAC, the big conservative conclave in Washington (so big it’s being moved to Prince George’s County, Md.). And while plenty of Republican stars are showing up, from Mitt Romney to Marco Rubio, Palin speaks on Saturday, which means she’ll have the weekend news cycle to herself.
Now Palin does need a bigger platform than Twitter or Facebook if she’s going to get back into the cultural relevancy game. The loss of Fox as an outlet has definitely hurt her. But this could be a start.
She did once “co-host” the Today show, didn’t she?
