Jil Sander Leaves Her Namesake Label: Jil Sander, who only returned to her design house in February 2012, is leaving the label for the third time. The designer, who is said to be departing for personal reasons, has gone through a bit of a revolving door with her eponymous brand over the past decade. In 2000, her label was sold to Prada. A year later, Sander resigned due to reported conflicts with Prada's CEO Patrizio Bertelli. In 2003, she was reinstated, but stepped down again in November 2004, where she was succeeded by Raf Simons. Sander then returned to the house in 2012. "On behalf of the group I want to thank Jil Sander for her remarkable contribution to the brand over this period," the brand's chief executive Alessandro Cremonesi said in a statement to WWD. "Her outstanding design and creative leadership have been crucial in reinforcing the brand and positioning it to foster further prosperous growth." [Vogue UK]
