Lupita Nyong'o Covers Vogue; Museum of Modern Art Announces Bjork Exhibit

And Cindy Crawford is writing a book.

Lupita Nyong'o Covers Vogue: First Lena Dunham. Then Kim Kardashian. Now, Lupita Nyong'o. Anna Wintour has hit the trifecta, delivering Vogue's readers with exactly what they want. Shot by Mikael Jansson, the breakthrough actress (and style star) of the year poses on location in Marrakesh, Morocco in a slew of frocks by Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, and Vera Wang. The 31-year-old actress, who is described by the magazine's European editor-at-large, Hamish Bowles, as "cucumber-cool, as beautiful and hieratic as an ancient Egyptian statue of a cat goddess," opens up about her fast rise to fame, her approach to fashion (the first time she met with her stylist, Micaela Erlanger, she brought a Pinterest board of inspiration), and how the red carpet can feel like a "war zone." Tom Ford Sends Penis Necklaces Down The Runway: "Is that a crucifix round your neck or are you just happy to see me? The Telegraph's David Nicholls wrote in his review of Tom Ford's Spring/Summer 2014 men's collection shown at London Fashion Week. The American designer is no stranger to sexual symbolism in his work, but Ford's most recent line seemed to take things a bit too literally, with "crucifix"-style necklaces prancing down the runway—looking a whole lot like silver penises. Trendy or tacky? You be the judge. [The Telegraph]

MOMA Announces Bjork Exhibit For 2015: On Wednesday, New York's Museum of Modern Art announced that its March 2015 exhibit will highlight the 20-year career of singer (and fashion risk-taker) Bjork "as a composer, musician and artist." The retrospective will include "immersive music" and a "film installation," and “will present a narrative, both biographical and imaginatively fictitious,” the museum said in a press release. [Wall Street Journal]

Cindy Crawford is Writing a Book: Supermodel Cindy Crawford, who turns the big 5-0 next year, will be celebrating the milestone with a new book that highlights her personal and career success. "It's not just a coffee-table book with images, although that will be part of it," Crawford said of the book, which will be published by Rizzoli in the fall of 2015. "It's not a biography. It's sort of a hybrid book. It'll come out in the fall before I turn 50, so it's kind of a way to celebrate turning 50 as opposed to dreading it." [Vogue UK]
