Cara Delevingne Is Topshop’s Solo Star; Music Festival Bans War Bonnets

And Net-a-Porter CEO to step down.

Cara Delevingne Is Topshop’s Solo Star: After snagging multiple high-fashion campaigns for autumn/winter 2014 (Chanel, Mulberry, Burberry), 21-year-old Cara Delevingne has become the first solo star for British high-street label, Topshop. “Cara is a true Topshop girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual,” the brand’s creative director, Kate Phelan, said. Oh, and Delevingne’s pet rabbit, Cecile, also makes an appearance. [Telegraph]

Music Festival Bans Headdresses: The use of Native American-style headdresses by the fashion industry has been widely criticized. Now, one music festival is taking their stance a step further by placing a ban on the questionable accessory. “We understand why people are attracted to war bonnets,” Bass Coast organizers said in a statement. “They have a magnificent aesthetic. But their spiritual, cultural and aesthetic significance cannot be separated…Bass Coast festival takes place on indigenous land and…we feel our policy aligns with [aboriginal peoples’] views and wishes regarding the subject.” [The Guardian]

Net-A-Porter CEO Steps Down: After more than a decade of service for the high-end retailer, Mark Sebba has announced his retirement as CEO from high-end e-commerce company Net-A-Porter. “I am stepping down at a time when the company is stronger than ever,” Sebba told WWD. “We have built a team of world-class writers, communicators, buyers, innovators, digital pioneers, distribution experts and more who form the foundations and DNA of this company.” [WWD]
