“Odd couples” have long been a fixture of American culture. The roots may lie with Felix and Oscar of Neil Simon’s appropriately titled play-turned-movie-turned-TV show The Odd Couple, when the appeal of contrasting personalities at close quarters first entered America’s mainstream.
The phenomenon continues today, with one of the more extraordinary examples being the steady friendship of comedian Jerry Seinfeld and DC-based rapper Wale. These two men share little in common on the surface, but as you’ll see from this skit-interview hybrid, they make a good team.
