LONDON, England — After weeks of sustained negative publicity, things are about to get a whole lot worse for the self-proclaimed, self-promoting Swiss-American “pick-up artist” Julien Blanc.
Even a public apology on CNN for some of his behavior couldn’t save him after 150,000 people signed a petition submitted to the British government demanding that the 25-year-old be banned from the United Kingdom.
Up to a point, Blanc had relished the title “most hated man in the world.” Beats “most unknown man in the world,” if you’re the kind of publicity hound this guy appears to be. But it now appears that, yes, British Home Secretary Theresa May could well follow through on the ban.
That would put a real crimp in the dating seminars of a man who actively encourages abusive behavior toward women. On his website he boasts about having “emotionally scarring” and “evil” techniques to help persuade women to have sex with those who follow his guidelines.
Australia earlier cancelled Blanc's visa over claims his tactics promote sexual assault.
The petition in Britain says: "To allow this man into the UK legitimizes sexual assault and predation, and sends a message that women are playthings or objects without agency."
Sky News is now reporting that Blanc will not be allowed to enter the UK for a series of events scheduled to take place in February.
This professional seducer, of sorts, has been pictured holding a T-shirt reading “Diss Fatties, Bang Hotties.” He charges more than $1500 for the coaching sessions that promise to “take you into the real world and teach you how to be good with women up close and step-by-step.” On one promotional video for the firm that employs him, Real Social Dynamics, he talks about following his pupils into bed and telling them, “Put it in now.” Maybe he was joking about that. Another video that went viral showed Blanc choking women in Tokyo. That definitely was not a joke.
The UK visa refusal comes despite a belated attempt at damage limitation by Blanc, who told CNN's Chris Cuomo in a live interview, “I’d like to apologize to anyone I’ve offended in any way.… It was never my intention. I’m extremely sorry for everything that happened.”
Blanc said, “I feel horrible, I'm not going to be happy if I feel like I'm the most hated man in the world. I’m overwhelmed by the way people are responding.”
However, his personal website clearly has to yet catch up with Blanc’s newfound contrition.
It still boasts: “Make girls BEG to sleep with you after short-circuiting their emotional and logical mind,” with pickup lines like “Get down on your knees, call me Master, and BEG ME to kiss you.”
You get the picture.
One of Blanc’s colleagues recently posted a (now-deleted) video of himself bragging about the apparent rape of a stripper.
Owen Cook was filmed telling a crowd, “She was a stripper... I fucking hated that fucking bitch. … The last way I fucked her too … I just threw her on the bed and I put it in her, and I could barely even get it in because she was just totally not in the mood. …” and so on.
No doubt a lot of British creeps who are not only afraid of women, but hate them, will be disappointed about the canceled coaching sessions. The wankers will just have to get back to wanking.
