National Geographic Channel follows six Americans who have left their mainstream lives to survive completely off the land in Live Free or Die. They have rejected the pull of money and material possessions in favor of getting back to their primal roots and reveling in the wealth of the natural world. From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the swamps of Georgia, these “re-wilders” rely only on their skills, intuition and natural resources to survive in an almost completely technology-free environment. They are faced with natural obstacles, like brutal weather and depleted food sources, and must find ways to subsist that don’t violate the strict code they hold themselves to in order to remain self-sufficient. It is this very code, the difficulty of keeping it and the potential to triumph over nature that fuel their desire to remain on these modern-day frontiers. Tune in to see how these new pioneers Live Free or Die Tuesdays at 9/8c.
