‘Daily Show’s’ Trevor Noah Mocks Trump’s Easter Egg Roll Disaster

“You can see that’s a guy who has no idea what Easter is actually about,’ Trevor Noah said Monday night.

It shouldn’t have been that hard. But when President Donald Trump was tasked with delivering remarks to families at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, this is what he came up with.

“We will be stronger and bigger and better as a nation than ever before,” the president said, as children cried in the background. “We’re right on track, you see what’s happening and we are right on track.”

“That’s his Easter speech,” The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah said Monday night. “You can see that’s a guy who has no idea what Easter is actually about.”

“‘Easter is such a holy day,’” the host said, imitating Trump. “‘People, I’m here with Rabbit Jesus. It’s so holy, folks, you wouldn’t believe it.’”

“Though I must say, I’m impressed at how Steve Bannon is adjusting to his new role in the White House,” Noah added, implying that Trump’s demoted adviser has taken on a position once held by Sean Spicer.

Noah’s favorite part of the celebration came when the national anthem played and Melania Trump had to “remind Donald that he’s the president.” In a clip made the rounds on social media earlier in the day, you can see the first lady not-so-subtly nudge Trump to put his hand over his heart.

Or, as Noah as Melania Trump put it, “'C’mon, Donald, it’s easy, just put your hand where the human heart is supposed to be.'”

And then there was "the miraculous resurrection of Kellyanne Conway," who was interviewed on Fox & Friends as a miltiary band literally played the theme song from Looney Tunes. "For me, of all the blunders that have happened in this world of Trump, this one strangely seemed like the most fitting," Noah said. "Because, not only is Looney Tunes the right theme for the Trump White House, but the world is probably is probably going to end with Sean Spicer coming out and saying, 'That's all folks!'"
