All this time off apparently hasn’t given George W. Bush room to rethink some of his more controversial decisions: On Wednesday, the former president told the Economic Club of Grand Rapids, Michigan, “Yeah, we waterboarded Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. I’d do it again to save lives.” Bush had banned cameras from the event but reporters were able to catch his remarks anyway. ThinkProgress points out that Mohammed gave false information to the CIA after being waterboarded 183 times and that some people believe the policy of waterboarding actually cost more American lives by radicalizing the Muslim world.
