Oprah Picks Up Rosie's New Daytime Show

Time to bury the hatchet: Once heated rivals, two of the most recognizable faces in daytime television—Rosie O’Donnell and Oprah Winfrey—are poised to join forces. OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has just purchased Rosie O’Donnell’s new daytime talk show. It’s a strange marriage for the two since O’Donnell, who formerly co-hosted ABC’s The View, once competed with Winfrey for the title of daytime talk-show queen at the height of The Rosie O'Donnell Show’s popularity in the late ‘90s. O'Donnell is a polarizing figure with strong political views and plenty of snark—will a new syndicated show appeal to viewers of the largely apolitical network?
